As the name implies, string knit gloves are made on specialized knitting machines that use continuous lengths of yarn. Gloves are seamless, ambidextrous and provide excellent dexterity. We offer basic machine knit gloves in many blends of cotton, polyester, nylon, wool and acrylics. We also use engineered yarns like Dyneema®, Kevlar®, Stainless Steel Reinforced, Glass Fiber, High Tenacity Nylon, Thunderon® and Thermolite®. Machine knit shells can be reinforced with protective polymers to provide varying degrees of durability, flexibility and chemical protection.
The dexterity of machine knit gloves can be controlled by altering the gauge of the knit. The gauge is a measurement of the number of knitting needles per inch. We produce machine knit gloves in 7, 10, 13, 15 and 18 gauge varieties. General-purpose machine knits are normally produced on lower gauge machines while styles requiring the most dexterity are produced on higher gauge machines. Seamless Terry gloves are also classified as machine knit gloves. |
